MeisterSinger Rodella: a watch from 6 hours in 48 copies

MeisterSinger, German watch brand that offers watches on which the hour's reading is done through a mono-aiguille, enriches its collection with the arrival in 2014, model Rodella, which, as its name suggests, pays homage to the classic watchmaker Giambattista Rodella. A ultra-limitee edition of 48 copies.

This novelty in MeisterSinger, marketed in a ultra-limitee series of 48 pieces for the world, inspired Italian hours of "Giambattista Rodella" which had divided the day into periods of 6 hours. Recall that in the 18th century, many clocks of six hours of Rodella were installed on historical and important monuments through the Italy.

"Rodella approach, you want to minimize the time that passes Breitling Replica, is in perfect agreement with our vision" said on this occasion Manfred Brassler, founder and CEO of MeisterSinger. "So, our six hours Rodella shows is a tribute to this man and"dolcevita".

The Meistersinger Rodella of six hours (43 mm steel case), reproduces the classic elements of the original. The numerals on the dial of origin were however replaced by Roman numerals.

A Timer type "chemin de fer" placed on the dial indicates the minutes accurately while two inner rings allow to read the time. In this configuration, the needle does well obviously four complete rotations every 24 hours instead of two normally.

The hour's reading is not obvious, but it's also what makes the charm of these models... Here, the goal is not to have the time in the second, but get an estimate of the time within a few minutes. However, this subjective reading inaccuracy does not cause the rigorous precision of computing through the use of mechanical movements Swiss time (here, a Unitas 6498-wound).

This template returns this year in a version with tinted design with a touch of vintage... Before presenting this novelty, back on the history of this timepiece that has been able to cross generations and establish itself as a watch icon over the decades.

The legacy of the IWC Portuguese family goes back to the tradition of precision nautical instruments that once helped the sailors to discover the world.
